Aatapi Seva Foundation
Established in 2009 as a response to the specific needs of local communities, Aatapi emerged
after a comprehensive baseline study across four villages—Gajera, Piludara, Kareli, and
Vedach—in the Jambusar taluka of Bharuch district, Gujarat. The priorities and areas of work
were identified through an engaging and participatory process between the founding corporate
partner and local residents. Today, Aatapi’s impact extends across 111 villages in the
Jambusar, Ankleshwar, Padra, and Silvassa (U.T.) blocks, spanning Bharuch, Vadodara, and
Dadra and Nagar Haveli districts.
Aatapi Seva Foundation is dedicated to fostering holistic and sustainable development within communities through inclusive, need-based interventions. These initiatives are guided and shaped by the voices of the community, with a focus on promoting dignity, self-reliance, and long-term positive transformation. The Foundation’s name, “Aatapi,” is inspired by a Pali word from Buddhist teachings meaning “diligent hard work,” reflecting its commitment to perseverance and service.
